Vanessa Smythe is a Canadian actor, poet, playwright, and theatre creator. She has collaborated with the likes of Woody Harrelson and Julianne Moore, and has mentored with Christian Bök, Daniel MacIvor, and d’bi Young. She has toured her original work to critical and popular acclaim through North America and the UK. Recent acting credits include Designated Survivor (ABC), Saving Hope (NBC), Murdoch Mysteries (CBC), and her original show In Case We Disappear. In theatre she has worked with Canadian Stage, Company Theatre, Crow’s Theatre, fu-GEN Theatre, Young Peoples’ Theatre, and Talk is Free, and she is the Performance Poet in residence at Outside the March. Recently featured on CBC, Vanessa traveled across Canada as a youth ambassador when she was 16, and continues to offer shows and creativity workshops internationally.
